PMGO 2026 Season 2 adds a Team Deathmatch tiebreaker
Points ties on a qualification spot at PMGO 2026 Season 2 will now be settled by a Team Deathmatch. PUBG Mobile Esports announced the rule on 13 October 2026, a week before the event starts in Lahore.
How the tiebreaker works
| Item | Rule |
|---|---|
| When | Any points tie that decides a qualification spot |
| Stages | Group Stage and Survival Stage |
| Format | Best-of-three, 4v4 Team Deathmatch |
| Map | Warehouse |
| Round win | First team to 15 eliminations, or more eliminations when the timer ends |
| Tied round | The team with the last elimination wins |
In practice the tiebreaker can decide three cut lines:
- 6th in each group: the last direct Grand Finals spot
- 14th in each group: the last Survival Stage spot
- 4th in the Survival Stage: the last Grand Finals spot
Pakistan's teams are all exposed to it. LF Esports plays Group A on 20 October. 4Thrives Esports and 777 Esports play Group B on 21 October.
Also new: showmatch and Match 13
The same announcement confirmed two Grand Finals additions:
- A themed-map showmatch opens Day 2, before Match 7. The winner bans one of three map options for Match 13.
- Match 13 is played only if no team has won the title under the Smash Rule by Match 12. The overall leader after Match 12 picks one of the two remaining maps.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Team Deathmatch decide Grand Finals placings?
No. It only applies to ties on qualification spots in the Group and Survival Stages.
Why add Match 13?
PUBG Mobile Esports says it raises the chance that the title is decided by a chicken dinner (WWCD).
